Well I just got back last night from a nice weekend trip to Boston. I’ll try to put some pics up on facebook soon as I get them. Kelly and I got up there and realized she needed a new battery for her digital camera, the fuji I got her uses a really unusual battery, but it’s good that we packed a regular film camera. We saw Fenway, the Old North Church, Boston Common, and a number of other places.
I was afraid at first that we wouldn’t even get to experience the city or any of its historic sites. It rained all day friday and we went to the mall (I was so disappointed–my first time in Boston and we were at a mall). However, I realized that we were there for my sister-in-law’s graduation from Gordon College. And graduate she did, so it was a good trip, if only for that reason. We stayed on Cape Ann and had a gorgeous ocean view from our hotel!
Now it’s back to work here at NRHBC and focusing on what I’ve got ahead of me since graduation from Southwestern. Up next will be a month-long trip to Lackland AFB where I will work with the chaplains and get some experience. Also, look for my forthcoming book review in the Southwestern Journal of Theology.
Well the image is a bit grainy, as I took it with my phone’s camera. It’s certainly not HD quality or anything, but here’s something I had to share. As I prepare for SWBTS graduation, I was offered my choice of gifts, one of which was a SWBTS coffee mug, this was the picture on the reverse side. It was too good, and I just had to take a picture. Why, oh why, I’m asking myself now, did I get the watercolor lithograph of the campus instead? Oh, yes, because this was just a bit too creepy for me. Sorry, Dr. P, but it’s true. So here’s the shot of the mug (what did you think I meant?)
